Sabbaticals do result in premium reductions. You must submit your request in
writing, be on leave for at least 90 continuous days within a calendar year, and
totally and completely refrain from practicing during your leave. You must also have
been insured with Red Clay for at least one year prior to your sabbatical. If these
conditions are met, the Board at its discretion may grant a sabbatical.
Checks should be sent to the following address:
Red Clay Risk Retention Group
2352 Main Street, Suite 301
Concord, MA 01742
The insured is offered tail coverage.
Settlements made on the behalf of an insured will be reported to the Nation
Practitioner Data Bank and the Alabama State Board of Medical Examiners
There is a two-step process for redemptions to be paid. First, the Board will approve
the redemption, and second, the liquidity of the insurance company will be taken into
consideration. If the exit of a Shareholder were to put the RRG in a precarious
position from a cash flow standpoint or an equity perspective, then the Board would
have the right to stagger or postpone the payment of the stock redemption. Since
inception in 2008, there have been no redemption payments delayed for any reason.
