Insurance Coverages
Claims made Coverage
A claim must meet two requirements to be covered under this policy:
1. The claim must result from a covered activity provided or withheld on or after your retroactive date; and
2. The claim must be reported to us in writing by a covered person for the first time during the policy period.
Tail Coverage
Tail is an endorsement on a policy that provides extended reporting. Tail coverage extends the time a claim may be made beyond the final claims made policy period. It is offered to insureds who cancel their medical malpractice policy.
Slot Policies
A slot policy is made to insure a group of part-timers at a clinic. Essentially, a slot is a single policy that provides coverage to multiple part-timers provided the part-timers do not exceed 40 hours of work per week cumulatively.
Slots are based on “full-time equivalency” (FTE). Essentially, the slot’s premium is based on how many hours the part-time clinicians within the slot work collectively in a period of time.
